Set in a green valley 1,500 metres up in the Andes, Medellín is a city that works at the pace of its weather: warm mornings, long evenings, terraces that stay open all year. It is a place people arrive at with expectations and leave with plans to return.
Over two decades the city has rebuilt itself around public space — a metro and cable cars that stitched the hillsides to the valley floor, library parks, escalators and a creative economy that now draws designers, chefs and musicians from across the continent. Its restaurants, cafés and bars number in the thousands; its festival calendar runs from flowers in August to lights in December.
Luxe Society Travel Group is based here. We host guests in private villas, mansions and penthouses across Medellín and Envigado, and we coordinate everything around the stay — airport arrivals, private drivers, chefs, reservations, nights out, day trips and celebrations — with a local team that answers on WhatsApp.
At roughly 1,500 metres, the valley holds spring temperatures the whole year. Pools, rooftops and terraces are used the way they were designed — in January and in July.
A city that rebuilt itself in public
Metro, cable cars and outdoor escalators as everyday transport; library parks on the hillsides; 29 neighbourhood parks renewed this year alone. The transformation is something you ride, walk and sit in — not a slogan.
Food and coffee at every scale
More than 12,000 gastronomic establishments in 2026, from tasting menus in El Poblado to neighbourhood cafés roasting Antioquia beans. Dinner is one of the reasons people extend the trip.
A festival calendar that fills the year
Flowers in August, books in September, Altavoz and the first EDC Colombia in October, lights in December, La Solar in the new year. Music of every kind, much of it free and in the open air.
Nature within an hour
Parque Arví by cable car, the flower farms of Santa Elena, the rock and lake at Guatapé, coffee country and the colonial streets of Santa Fe de Antioquia — all reachable and back for dinner.
Privacy with a local team behind it
Gated villas and penthouses with staff, drivers who know the hills, and a concierge that is from here. The stay stays private; the city stays open.

Music & Nightlife
Medellín After Dark
The city's nights run late and start early: rooftop DJ sets at sunset, live salsa and tango in the old neighbourhoods, techno clubs in the industrial south, and festival weekends that take over the stadium. Luxe Society coordinates the evening around your stay — transport, reservations, security and a concierge who knows where to go on a Tuesday.
Tango around Manrique and the Gardel house, salsa and Cuban orchestras in the west, jazz and singer-songwriters in Laureles, rock at Altavoz in October. Tell us the sound you want and we book the table.
Nightlife Concierge
Private driver for the whole night, reservations at the venues you choose, a discreet security escort if you want one, and a phone that answers at 3 a.m. We request tables and guest lists on your behalf; venues confirm them, not us.
Reservation and table requests at the venues you choose (confirmed by each venue)
Guest-list and entry requests
Transport for the night and back to the property
Coordination with the property's rules on late returns
Private Celebrations
Birthdays, bachelor and bachelorette weekends, launches and anniversaries inside the villa: DJ, sound, lighting, bartenders, chef and staff, within each property's house rules and noise hours.
Luxe Society Travel Group is not a promoter, sponsor or ticket seller. VIP access, tables and tickets are never promised until the venue or organizer confirms them in writing.
City Guide
The city, in seven chapters
What we tell guests before they land. Public places only; restaurant and club recommendations come from the concierge, matched to your dates.
Where to Stay
El Poblado & Provenza (Medellín)
Tree-lined streets, the densest concentration of restaurants and bars, and most of our Medellín penthouses and mansions within minutes.
Las Palmas & the hills (Medellín)
Gated villas above the valley with the view the city is famous for. Ten to twenty minutes down to Provenza by private car; closer to the international airport.
Envigado
A separate municipality just south of El Poblado — quieter, residential, with large country houses and estates that suit big groups and celebrations.
Sabaneta
Further south, still in the Aburrá Valley. Small-town rhythm, its own plaza and nightlife, and a fast road to the rest of the valley. We do not currently list properties there.
Culture & Art
Plaza Botero & Museo de Antioquia
Twenty-three bronze sculptures by Fernando Botero in the open air, next to the museum that holds his largest donation and a strong Colombian collection.
Museo Casa de la Memoria
The city's museum of memory: a serious, well-made account of the conflict and of how Medellín chose to remember it. Free, and worth the hour.
Comuna 13 (San Javier)
Outdoor escalators, murals, dance crews and the best-known example of the city's transformation. Go with a local guide, in the morning, and leave time to talk to the artists.
Museo de Arte Moderno (MAMM)
Contemporary art in a converted steel works in Ciudad del Río, with a cinema, a terrace and a good bookshop.
Nature & Views
Parque Arví
A forest reserve on the eastern ridge, reached by Metrocable from Santo Domingo. Trails, a market of local producers and several degrees cooler than the valley.
Santa Elena & the silleteros
The flower-growing corregimiento above the city, home of the silletera tradition behind the Feria de las Flores. Family farms receive visitors year-round.
Miradores
Las Palmas at dusk for the classic panorama; Cerro Nutibara and Pueblito Paisa in the centre of the valley; Cerro El Volador for the widest view of the city.
Jardín Botánico
Thirteen hectares in the north of the city with the Orquideorama, a lake, open-air concerts and the Fiesta del Libro every September.
Food & Coffee
A city of 12,000 kitchens
Medellín counted 12,012 gastronomic establishments in 2026 (Alcaldía de Medellín), from tasting menus to corner bakeries. The concierge books by your taste, not by a list.
Antioquia on the plate
Bandeja paisa, arepas, buñuelos, fresh trout from the mountain reservoirs, and fruit you will not find at home — lulo, guanábana, mangostino, uchuva.
Coffee, from farm to cup
Specialty cafés roast beans from the hills a couple of hours away. Ask for a cupping in the city or a farm visit in the coffee region as a day trip.
Private chef at the villa
For groups, the best table is often your own: a chef and staff at the property, menus agreed in advance, no reservation needed.
Day Trips
Guatapé & El Peñol
Two hours east: the 740-step climb up the rock, the reservoir seen from the top, the painted zócalos of the town. Boat or private terrace optional.
Coffee country
Working farms in the mountains south-west of the city: the walk through the plantation, the roasting, the tasting, lunch on the finca.
Santa Fe de Antioquia
The old colonial capital of the region, an hour north-west through the tunnel: cobbled streets, churches, a hot dry climate and the Puente de Occidente.
Getting Around
José María Córdova (MDE) — international
In Rionegro, on the plateau east of the city. Roughly 45–60 minutes to El Poblado by private car depending on traffic; closer to Las Palmas. Luxe Society arranges the airport pick-up on request.
Olaya Herrera (EOH) — regional
Inside the city, in the south-west. Domestic and regional flights only; ten to fifteen minutes to El Poblado.
Private driver, always
Distances are short but the hills and the traffic are real. A driver on call is the difference between a good day and a long one.
Metro & Metrocable
Clean, safe and worth riding once for the views over the hillside neighbourhoods. Line K to Santo Domingo, then Line L up to Parque Arví.
Responsible Travel
Respect the neighbourhood
Our properties sit in residential areas. Noise hours, guest limits and house rules are part of every agreement, and they protect your stay as much as the neighbours.
Spend where it counts
Local guides, family farms, neighbourhood cafés and artists in Comuna 13. The city's sustainable tourism policy asks visitors to leave value behind; we plan trips that do.
What we do not arrange
Luxe Society does not facilitate sex tourism, drugs or any illegal activity, and ends the stay if it is asked to. Guests are adults; we protect minors and report exploitation.
Stay curious, stay kind
A few words of Spanish go far. Medellín is proud of the city it has become; ask about the present, not only the past.

The city centre management is activating the printers' street in San Benito with a 'Buen Vecino' day of social services, health checks, employment support and cultural activity on 11 September 2026. Recent work on the street includes cleaning 500 square metres and planting 139 trees, part of a wider push to bring people back to downtown.
Atanasio Girardot stadium completes removal of its western roof slab
More than 400 tonnes of concrete slab were removed from the western stand in 15 sections, the first phase of a renovation meant to turn the stadium into a world-class venue. The concrete will be recycled into kerbs and blocks, a construction licence is in place and the tender for the full works opens soon. The stadium stays in operation throughout.
The city's Tourism and Entertainment office, led by Secretary Paula Andrea Yepes Gómez, outlined a tourism model built on three fronts: protecting the territory, strengthening communities and creating economic opportunity. It follows the municipal Public Tourism Policy and aims for growth that benefits residents as much as visitors.
The city added 674 food and drink businesses this year, reaching 12,012 — up 5.9% on 2025 and more than 500% since 2015. Traditional restaurants make up 54.7% of the total and cafés 15.6%. Almost half the businesses are three years old or younger, and El Poblado, La Candelaria and Laureles concentrate nearly half of the formal offer.
The municipality completed the renovation of 29 parks in 12 comunas, recovering more than 55,000 square metres of public space with new play areas, paths, plazas, planting and furniture. The investment exceeds 15.5 billion pesos and includes parks in El Poblado, Aranjuez, Castilla and Doce de Octubre.
